Hi! brothers and sisters,

My bible study group is going through the parable of sower and the soils, which I find  is very important in relation to our SPIRITUAL growth. That's the driving force for me to share with you.

For those who want to read this parable, you may refer to the relevant verses from the Scripture as shown below:-

a)  Matthew 13: 3-8;
3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
b)  Mark 4: 3-8

3 “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air[a] came and devoured it. 5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirty fold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

c)   Luke 8: 5-8

5 “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. 8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

From the above parables, Jesus was drawing the analogy SEED to the GOSPEL and SOIL to those who hear the gospel. He portrayed that the key to spiritual growth is condition of the HEART of the person receiving or hearing the GOSPEL.

Let us study through together and at the same time, examine and evaluate our hearts honestly to ascertain which type of soils our hearts will fit into:-

In the parable, Jesus reiterated that there are four types of conditions of soil as follows:-

1. The hard-packed soil.
Jesus is describing the situation where there is essentially no chance for the seed germinating because of hardness of the ground.  The seed eventually become bird feed instead.

He refers this soil to those whose hearts are hardened and impenetrable. GOSPEL has no chance of growing just like the seed fallen on a hard-packed soil.

These group of people do not understand the Gospel because they simply refuse to do so.

2. Soil that was shallow

The seed would germinate quickly on such ground because it grows rapidly but there was no depth! As a result, it becomes weak and could not withstand the resistance.

This apply to those who have a SHALLOW HEART and are drawn to the blessings of salvation. However when hardship and adversity arises, they usually complain and search for alternate spiritual utopia.

3 Soil hat was filled with weeds

You may know that weeds are very easy to grow. It is very hard to detect them in early stage because they blend in so well with the plants. And if left unchecked, they will begin to choke the life of the sprout. The weeds will flourish whereas the plant dies.

Here,  WEEDY SOIL refers to those who are too busy with other interests which are of lesser importance. The weeds will eventually overwhelm their spiritual life.

4 GOOD SOIL (the fertile soil)

The good ground was deep; fertile and soft where the seed could gain entry. It could find nourishment and yield crop.

GOOD SOIL  refers to those who are not only receptive to Gospel, but hungry for it. As such, they grow and bear fruit.

I hope the above discussion have given you an insight of the four different soils. It is worthy to note that they may not necessary refer to four different types of people, but they may also apply to four different responses within the same person as well. In reality, we may respond to God differently depending upon the situation we are in, contentment or frustration at the particular moment of time.

May I sum up this discussion with the Psalmist below.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” I pray in Jesus' wonderful name. Amen.

Hi ! loving brothers and sisters,

This is one of the most beautiful advices I have ever received and so excited to share with you. Sit back and enjoy ..

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

If you don't delegate the tasks to others, how can God gives you a more challenging tasks. Giving is receiving.

Just give the above serious thought.

God bless,

Hi! loving brothers and sisters,
The anwers to the above questions are as follows:-

Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, killed by a sword wound

Died in Alexandria, Egypt, after being dragged by horses through the streets until he was dead

Was hanged in Greece as a result of his tremendous preaching to the lost.

Faced martyrdom when he was boiled in huge basin of boiling oil during a wave of persecution in Rome. However, he was
miraculously delivered from death. John was then sentenced to the mines on the prison island of Patmos. He wrote his prophetic
Book of Revelation on Patmos. The apostle John was later freed and returned to serve as Bishop of Edessa in modern Turkey. He died as an old man, the only apostle to die peacefully.

??kb jpg Saint Peter the Apostle holy card

He was crucified upside down on an x-shaped cross. According to church tradition it was because he told his tormentors that he
felt unworthy to die in the same way that Jesus Christ had died.

????. ????. ???????? ????????????????, ???????????? ??????????. ????????????????:

Just The leader of the church in Jerusalem, was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple
when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his enemies beat James to death with a fuller's club.
* This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation.

James the Great
Son of Zebedee, was a fisherman by trade when Jesus called him to a lifetime of ministry. As a strong leader
of the church, James was ultimately beheaded at Jerusalem. The Roman officer who guarded James watched amazed as James defended his faith at his trial. Later, the officer walked beside James to the place of execution. Overcome by conviction, he declared his new faith to the judge and knelt beside James to accept beheading as a Christian

The Martyrdom of St. Bartholomew

Also known as Nathaniel Was a missionary to Asia. He witnessed for our Lord in present day Turkey. Bartholomew was martyred for his preaching in Armenia where he was flayed to death by a whip.

Was crucified on an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece. After being whipped severely by seven soldiers they tied his body to
the cross with cords to prolong his agony. His followers reported that, when he was led toward the cross, Andrew saluted it in these
words: 'I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has been consecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it.' He continued to preach to his tormentors for two days until he expired.

Was stabbed with a spear in India during one of his missionary trips to establish the church in the sub-continent

Was killed with arrows when he refused to deny his faith in Christ.

The apostle chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot, was stoned and then beheaded.

Was tortured and then beheaded by the evil Emperor Nero at Rome in A.D. 67. Paul endured a lengthy imprisonment, which
allowed him to write his many epistles to the churches he had formed throughout the Roman Empire. These letters, which taught many
of the foundational doctrines of Christianity, form a large portion of the New Testament.

Perhaps this is a reminder to us that our sufferings here are indeed minor compared to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles disciples during their times for the sake of the Faith. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake:
But he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Matthew 10:22

Hi! brothers and sisters,

This is one of the most beautiful advices I have ever received, which I like to share with you.

An Angel says, 'Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice..'

Hi! loving sisters and brothers,

It is clear to me that both old and new testaments are God's integral plan from the beginning and not Plan A and B as some may think. God's love and care for His people never changed as advocated by John 3:16. He did everything for us, knowing the truth that we can't add value to it. He even send His begotten Son to die for us so as to redeem our sins.

Below are some of crucial points extracted for your easy understanding.

1. Man of God

Moses is a man of God. God reaffirmed that Moses is a sinner, that he made mistakes despite his privilege to be able to communicate with God face to face. He still fell short of perfect obedience which resulted in his  failure to enter the promised land. Deuteronomy 34: However, God's grace made him not lacking in anything. Even though he was one hundred and twenty years old, his eyes were not weak nor his health. God's grace enable him to see the entire promised land prior to the end of his life.Thereafter, no one has any idea as to the whereabouts of his dead body. Do not forget that his living body was protected by God and delivered from the hatred of Pharaoh when he was a baby in a basket in the Nile.

Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, who did all those miraculous signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt - to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land.

Through Moses, four profound principles are well entrenched in the Christian walk :-

a) Time
The most important thing is to spend time with God.
Here, our issue is that we must get our priorities right and find the time to be with God. Is it not Him that gives time?

b) Obedience
Obey God. If you spend time with God and thus come to love Him, you have to obey His commands. This is inclined to inward rather than outward looking. Once you have intimate relationship with God, you will  hear His voice accurately, and not the voice from your flesh.

c) Trust God
This means to believe Him, to act and also to have your entire life based on His instructions, encouragements, statutes, laws and promises.

d) Witness
Speak often to others about God. The purpose of our presence is to testify God's existence. We share our experiences and revelations to glorify Him knowing the truth that all titles, glory, mercy, holy, and grace are for Him.

These four elements are integrated and function as one action to form the characteristics of Christ likeness.

2. Tutor between Adam and Jesus
One man's sin (through Adam), the world sin. Therefore, one man saved (through Jesus), the world is saved. Laws are our tutor but does not make us perfect us. [Galatians 3:24]  If not, Christ death on the cross is in vain.

From Moses' life, we find abundance of evidence that God's grace  delivered them out of Egypt and not through any of their efforts. In their weaknesses God's  great strength is demonstrated.  The point of the illustration is that salvation is made possible by the grace of God alone and it is received by faith alone, and not through our work. [Ephesians 2:8 - 9]

3. Two basic yet powerful commands

The vertical line of the Cross symbolize the first command of loving God whereas the horizontal line of it symbolize the second command of loving our peers, including our enemies.

Moses has demonstrated an unshakable faith even in the most troubling circumstances. In Moses' last breath, he still pray for his people despite his disappointing experiences with almost all of his people except Caleb and Joshua. God's grace made him lack nothing because of his fulfillment of these two basic commands.

The life of Moses

Hi! everyone,

After we studied the lives of great man of God, such as Moses, what have we benefited from it? What does that mean specifically? Shall we not share it out to make this discussion more meaningful ?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Hi ! Brothers and sisters in Christ,

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

If you think God exists, share this to other people---
If you think God does not exist, don't do anything!

Finally Every source comes to same conclusion

To all my dearest bros and sisters in Christ,

The most awaited movie of the year…
SCIENTIFIC EXPERTS from around the world are predicting that 3 years from now, all life on Earth could well come to an end. Some are saying it'll be humans that would set it off. Others believe that a natural phenomenon will be the cause. And the religious folks are saying it'll be God himself who would press the stop button. The following are some likely arguments as to why the world would end by the year 2012.

Reason one: Mayan calendar

The first to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things -- building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and sacrificing virgins.

Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the earth will end on December 21, 2012. Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, it's likely they've got the end of the world right as well.

Reason two: Sun storms

Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery. Our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic and it's supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the earth with lot of radiation energy. It's been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse and calculations suggest it'll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012

Reason three: The atom smasher

Scientists in Europe have been building the world's largest particle accelerator. Basically, its a 27 km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it's properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They're predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.

Reason four: The Bible says it

If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn't bad enough, religious folks are getting in on the act as well. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between good an evil, has been set for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese Book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.

Reason five: Super volcano

Yellowstone National Park in United States is famous for its thermal springs and old faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple -- it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang.

Reason six: The physicists

This one's case of bog -- simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berkely University have been crunching the numbers.
They've determined that the earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they're claiming that their calculations prove that we're all going to die, very soon. They are also saying that their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 per cent; and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.

Reason seven: Earth's magnetic field

We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that shields us from most of the sun's radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call North and South have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so -- and right now we're about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30 kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is under way, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years. The result is enough UV outdoors to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.

Do not worry unnecessary, but just follow the example set by the Noah the Ark. Nothing much we can do, but face it with the faith we have in Him, the source of everything.

Deuteronomy 32:47 and John 6:63

Dear loving sisters and brothers in Christ,

Compare these two phrases below. May I ask you what do these verses mean to you? Appreciate if you could put forward through comment. Thank you in advance.

Deuteronomy 32 :47
"For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess."

John 6:63
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Let us pray that He reveals the true meaning to everyone of us. I pray in Jesus' wonderful name, Amen.
