Merry Christmas

Jesus is Better than Santa

Santa lives at the North Pole.

JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh

JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year

JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies

JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited

JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.

You have to stand in line to see Santa

JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap

JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"

JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly

JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO

JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says "You better not cry"

JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.

Santa's little helpers make toys

JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle but

JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree

JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

It's obvious there is really no comparison.

We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.

We need to put Christ back in Christmas.

Jesus is still the reason for the season.

Poem by Russell Kelfer which sums up what God is and He does for us.

You are who you are for a reason.
You are part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.

NO, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurts you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Mater's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!

Isaiah 65:24 - 'Before they call, I will answer'

This story was written by a doctor who worked in South Africa.

One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive, as we had no incubator (we had no electricity to run an incubator).

We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in.

Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber perishes easily in tropical climates). 'And it is our last hot water bottle!' she exclaimed. As in the West, it is no good crying over spilled milk so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugstores down forest pathways.

'All right,' I said, 'put the baby as near the fire as you safely can, and sleep between the baby and the door to keep it free from drafts. Your job is to keep the baby warm.'

The following noon, as I did most days, I went to have prayers with any of the orphanage children who chose to gather with me. I gave the youngsters various suggestions of things to pray about and told them about the tiny baby. I explained our problem about keeping the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water bottle, and that the baby could so easily die if it got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old sister, crying because her mother had died.

During prayer time, one ten-year old girl, Ruth, prayed with the usual blunt conciseness of our African children. 'Please, God' she prayed, 'send us a water bottle. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the baby will be dead, so please send it this afternoon.' While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer, she added, 'And while You are about it, would You please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You really love her?'

As often with children's prayers, I was put on the spot. Could I honestly say, 'Amen'? I just did not believe that God could do this. Oh, yes, I know that He can do everything, the Bible says so. But there are limits, aren't there? The only way God could answer this particular prayer would be by sending me a parcel from homeland. I had been in Africa for almost four years at that time, and I had never, ever received a parcel from home.

Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel, who would put in a hot water bottle? I lived on the equator! Halfway through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the nurses' training school, a message was sent that there was a car at my front door.

By the time I reached home, the car had gone, but there, on the veranda, was a large twenty-two pound parcel. I felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not open the parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage children. Together we pulled off the string, carefully undoing each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to tear it unduly. Excitement was mounting. Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the large cardboard box. From the top, I lifted out brightly colored, knitted jerseys. Eyes sparkled as I gave them out. Then there were the knitted bandages for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and sultanas - that would make a batch of buns for the weekend. Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt the.....could it really be? I grasped it and pulled it out - yes, a brand-new, rubber hot water bottle. I cried. I had not asked God to send it; I had not truly believed that He could. Ruth was in the front row of the children. She rushed forward, crying out, 'If God has sent the bottle, He must have sent the dolly too!' Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled out the small, beautifully dressed dolly. Her eyes shone! She had never doubted! Looking up at me, she asked: 'Can I go over with you and give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll know that Jesus really loves her?'

That parcel had been on the way for five whole months. Packed up by my former Sunday school class, whose leader had heard and obeyed God's prompting to send a hot water bottle, even to the equator. And one of the girls had put in a dolly for an African child - five month s before, in answer to the believing prayer of a ten-year-old to bring it 'that afternoon'.

'Before they call, I will answer' (Isaiah 65:24). This awesome prayer takes less than a minute. When you receive this, say the prayer, that's all you have to do. No strings attached. Just share it with whoever you want. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue praying for one another!

'Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now.
I am asking You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.
Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy.
Where there is self doubting, release a renewed confidence to work through them.
Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You.
Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage.
Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders and friends to support and encourage them.
Give each of them discernment to recognize the evil forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it.
I ask you to do these things in Jesus' name. '

'Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet.

Family tree

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.

He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you.'

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,God's still small voice
came to me and said,

'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse..

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little
eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.

'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'

I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'

He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.I love you anyway.'

I said, 'Son, I love you too,and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.

But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?

So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Read only if you have time for God

Let me tell you, make sure you read all the way to the bottom.

Subject: READ ONLY IF YOU HAVE TIME FOR GOD

God, when I read this article, I thought..

I don't have time for this... And, this is really inappropriate during work.

Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is...

Exactly, what has caused lot of the problems in our world today.

We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning...

Maybe, Sunday night...

And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.

We do like to have Him around during sickness...

And, of course, at funerals.

However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play...

Because.... That's the part of our lives we think...

We can, and should, handle on our own.

May God forgive me for ever thinking...

That... there is a time or place where.....

HE is not to be FIRST in my life.

We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.

If, You aren't ashamed to do this...

Please follow the directions.

Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me,

I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'

Not ashamed?

Share this with others ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!!

Yes, I do Love God.

HE is my source of existence and Savior.

He keeps me functioning each and every day.

Without Him, I will be nothing.

Without Him, I am nothing.

But, with Christ, HE strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)

This is the simplest test...

If You Love God... And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you...

THE POEM
I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees

My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer. No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They would laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord!! I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
'Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time'
Now do you have the time to share it with others?

Make sure that you read to the end.

Easy vs. Hard

Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?

Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?

Why is it so hard to talk about God but yet so easy to talk about nasty stuff?

Why is it so boring to look at a Christian magazine, but yet so easy to look at a nasty one?

Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones?

Why are the churches getting smaller but yet the bars and dance clubs are getting larger?

Do you give up? Think about it

Are you going to forward this, or ignore it?

Just remember-God is watching you.

Prayer Wheel-

Let's see the devil stop this one!

Here's what the wheel is all about.

When you read this, say a prayer for the person that care for you....

Prayer is the very best one....

There are no costs, but wonderful rewards...

GOD BLESS!

The 12 Days of Christmas

The song goes,

"On the first day of Christmas
my true love gave to me...."
The "true love" represents God and the
"me" who receives these
presents is the Christian.

The "partridge in a pear tree"
was Jesus Christ who died on a tree as a gift from God.

The "two turtle doves"
were the Old and New Testaments
- another gift from God.

The "three French hens"
were faith, hope and love - the
three gifts of the Spirit that abide
(in I Corinthians 13).

The "four calling birds"
were the four Gospels which sing the
song of salvation through Jesus Christ.

The "five golden rings"
were the first five books of the Bible
also called the "Books of Moses."

The "six geese a-laying"
were the six days of creation.

The "seven swans a swimming"
were "seven gifts of the Holy Spirit."
(I Corinthians 12:8-11; Romans 12;
Ephesians 4; I Peter 4:10-11)

The "eight maids a milking"
were the eight beatitudes.
(Matthew 5:1-16)

The "nine ladies dancing"
were nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit.
(Galatians 5:22-23)

The "ten lords a-leaping"
were the Ten Commandments.

The "eleven pipers piping"
were the eleven 'faithful' disciples.

The "twelve drummers drumming"
were the twelve points of the Apostles' Creed.

So the next time you hear
"The 12 Days of Christmas"
consider how this otherwise
non-religious sounding song had
its origins in the Christian faith.

There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country. 'Is there anything breakable in here?' asked the postal clerk.
'Only the Ten Commandments. ' answered the lady.

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: 'I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our

When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note 'I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.'

A Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question, 'Boys and girls, what do we know about God?' A hand shot up in the air. 'He is an artist!' said the kindergarten boy. 'Really? How do you know?' the teacher asked. 'You know - Our Father, who does art in Heaven... '

A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of him. Finally, the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump. 'Reverend,' said the young man, 'I'm so sorry about the delay. It

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson

VATICAN HUMOR

After getting all of Pope Benedict's luggage loaded into the limo, (and he doesn't travel light), the driver notices the Pope is still standing on the curb..

'Excuse me, Your Holiness,' says the driver, 'Would you please take your seat so we can leave?'

'Well, to tell you the truth,' says the Pope, 'they never let me drive at the Vatican when I was a cardinal, and I'd really like to drive today.'

'I'm sorry, Your Holiness, but I cannot let you do that. I'd lose my job! What if something should happen?' protests the driver, wishing he'd never gone to work that morning.

'Who's going to tell?' says the Pope with a smile?

Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport, the Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 205 kph. (Remember, the Pope is German.)

'Please slow down, Your Holiness!' pleads the worried driver, but the Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens.

'Oh, dear God, I'm going to lose my license -- and my job!' moans the driver..

The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches, but the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on the radio.

'I need to talk to the Chief,' he says to the dispatcher.

The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he's stopped a limo going 205 kph.

'So bust him,' says the Chief.

'I don't think we want to do that, he's really important,' said the cop.

The Chief exclaimed,' All the more reason!'

'No, I mean really important,' said the cop with a bit of persistence.

The Chief then asked, 'Who do you have there, the mayor?'

Cop: 'Bigger.'

Chief: ' A senator?'

Cop: 'Bigger.'

Chief: 'The Prime Minister?'

Cop: 'Bigger.'

Well,' said the Chief, 'Who is it?'

Cop: 'I think it's God!'

The Chief is even more puzzled and curious, 'What makes you think it's God?'

Cop: 'His chauffeur is the Pope!'

JOY

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island.

The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agree that they had no other recourse but to pray to God. However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife.

The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the land.

On the other side of the island, there was nothing. Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, and more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered. As the ship was about to leave, the first man
heard a voice from heaven booming, "Why are you leaving your companion on the island?"

"My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them," the first man answered.

"His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything."

"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him. "He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings."

"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "What did he pray for that I should owe him anything?"

"He prayed that all your prayers be answered."

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us. This is too good not to share.

With obedience come blessings. My prayer for you today is that all your prayers are answered. Be blessed.

"What you do for others is more important than what you do for yourself"

A good friend shared this with me, please share this with your friend.

Have a great day! By the way, just do not forget this in order to receive JOY in your heart is this -

Jesus, others and then yourself (JOY)

Meaningful ways

Few more thoughts to colour your day with happiness, joy, enlightment and peace.

All mornings are like paintings.you need a little inspiration to get going;a little smile to brighten up;and a message from someone who cares to colour your day.
Keep your THOUGHTS positive, they become your words;
Keep your WORDS positive, they become your actions;
Keep your ACTIONS positive, they become your habits;
Keep your HABITS positive, they become your characters;
Keep you CHARACTERS positive, they become your destiny.

Do not pray for EASY lives.
Pray to become STRONGER;
Do not pray for TASKS equal to your POWER,
Pray for POWER equal to your TASKS.

Knowing others is intelligence;
Knowing yourself is wisdom;
Mastering others is strength;
Mastering yourself is enlightment.

Don't expect praise too soon.
Even a mosquito doesn't get a pat on the back until he has completed its task..
Man's way leads to a hopeless end.
God's way leads to an endless hope.
So for a change follow the God's way today and see if it makes any difference in your life today.
God bless you.

.........A friend forever
Relations are all about three things -Winning, Losing and Sharing.
Winning heart, Losing ego and Sharing joy and sorrow.
So always be related.

My Pray

"May the forgiving spirit of Him to whom we dedicate this season prevail again on earth.
May hunger disappear and terrorists cease their senseless acts.
May people live in freedom, worshiping as they see fit, loving others.
May the sanctity of the home be ever preserved.
May peace, everlasting peace,reign supreme."

So, I pray that let your will be done on earth as if in the heaven.
I pray in Jesus' wonderful name. Amen.

Unconditional Love

Some of you may have seen this video already but it is good to be reminded of the Father's love for his son that stretches far and beyond, under all circumstances.

Dear Readers,This video illustrates what the true essence of unconditional love is.....This is a True Story

A son says to his father: 'Dad, would you be willing to run a marathon with me?'The father, despite his age and heart disease, says 'YES'. And they run that marathon, together. The son asks: 'Dad, can you run another marathon with me?' Again the father says 'YES'. They run another marathon, together. One day the son asks his father: Dad would please do the Iron Man with me?' Now just in case you don't know, 'The Iron Man' is the toughest triathlon in existence; 4km swimming, then 180 km by bike, and finally another 42 km running, in one stroke.Again the father says 'YES' Maybe this hasn't 'touched' you yet... see this movie (turn on yr>> >> speakers!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJMbk9dtpdY&eurl=http://www.facebook.com/home> .php

THE BRICK

The Brick
Read this today and don't delete it if you are too busy!! You'll see why.

THE BRICK

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared . Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, 'What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?

That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?' The young boy was apologetic. 'Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do,' He pleaded. 'I threw the brick because no one else would stop...' With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. 'It's my brother, 'he said. 'He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up.'

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, 'Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me.' Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts.

A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. 'Thank you and may God bless you,' the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: 'Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!' God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Thought for the Day:

God sends you flowers every spring.
He sends you a sunrise every morning

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in...
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Useful Prayer words

GRATEFUL
I once was lost, now am found,
was blind,but now I see.
I like to thank You for Your daily provision of life and strength,
and for countless good things You give me each day.

My times are in my Father's hand;
How could I wish or ask for more?
For He who has my path way planned,
will give me till my journey over.

REQUEST
Lord, grant me grace throughout this day,
To walk the straight and narrow way,
To do whatsoever in Thy sight,
Is good and perfect, just and right.

O Lord, You see what's in the heart,
There is nothing hid from You,
So help us live the kind of life,
That's filled with love for You

Let Your word fill my heart,
Rule my heart, and guide my tongue.

STRENGTH
To walk close by Your side,
my dear Savior.
To be led by You, doing each task,
To feast richly on grace of Your table,
And know You are all that I ask.

Truth
Jesus said that we had have trouble
In this world so filled with sin,
But we need not be discouraged-
He will give peace and joy within. - Like the lotus living in the mud- stay unpoluted.

Injustices are hard to bear,
They make us want to fight;
(stay control of our selves; don't act by our flesh; let God be God; don't stir up issue to disharmony the society)
But God knows what we are going through,
In time He will mak things right.

IN GOD'S EYES

IN GOD'S EYES
by Candace Carteen, Portland , Oregon

By the time I was ten, I was totally ashamed of my father. All my friends called him names: Quasi-Moto, hunchback, monster, little Frankenstein, the crooked little man with the crooked little cane. At first it hurt when they called him those things, but soon I found myself agreeing with them. He was ugly, and I knew it!

My father was born with something called parastremmatic dwarfism. The disease made him stop growing when he was about thirteen and caused his body to twist and turn into a grotesque shape. It wasn't too bad when he was a kid. I saw pictures of him when he was about my age. He was a little short but quite good-looking. Even when he met my mother and married her when he was nineteen, he still looked pretty normal. He was still short and walked with a slight limp, but he was able to do just about anything. Mother said, "He even used to be a great dancer."Soon after my birth, things started getting worse. Another genetic disorder took over, and his left foot started turning out, almost backward. His head and neck shifted over to the right; his neck became rigid and he had to look over his left shoulder a bit. His right arm curled in and up, and his index finger almost touched his elbow. His spine warped to look something like a big, old roller coaster and it caused his torso to lie sideways instead of straight up and down like a normal person. His walk became slow, awkward, and deliberate. He had to almost drag his left foot as he used his deformed right arm to balance his gait.I hated to be seen with him. Everyone stared. They seemed to pity me. I knew he must have done something really bad to have God hate him that much.

By the time I was seventeen, I was blaming all my problems on my father. I didn't have the right boyfriends because of him. I didn't drive the right car because of him. I wasn't pretty enough because of him. I didn't have the right jobs because of him. I wasn't happy because of him.Anything that was wrong with me, or my life, was because of him. If my father had been good-looking like Jane's father, or successful like Paul's father, or worldly like Terry's father, I would be perfect! I knew that for sure.

The night of my senior prom came, and Father had to place one more nail in my coffin; he had volunteered to be one of the chaperones at the dance. My heart just sank when he told me. I stormed into my room, slammed the door, threw myself on the bed, and cried. "Three more weeks and I'll be out of here!" I screamed into my pillow. "Three more weeks and I will have graduated and be moving away to college." I sat up and took a deep breath. "God, please make my father go away and leave me alone. He keeps sticking his big nose in everything I do. Just make him disappear, so that I can have a good time at the dance."I got dressed, my date picked me up, and we went to the prom. Father followed in his car behind us. When we arrived, Father seemed to vanish into the pink chiffon drapes that hung everywhere in the auditorium. I thanked God that He had heard my prayer. At least now I could have some fun.Midway through the dance, Father came out from behind the drapes and decided to embarrass me again. He started dancing with my girlfriends. One by one, he took their hand and led them to the dance floor. He then clumsily moved them in circles as the band played. Now I tried to vanish into the drapes. After Jane had danced with him, she headed my way. Oh, no! I thought. She's going to tell me he stomped on her foot or something."Grace," she called, "you have the greatest father." My face fell. "What?"She smiled at me and grabbed my shoulders. "Your father's just the best. He's funny, kind, and always finds the time to be where you need him. I wish my father was more like that."For one of the first times in my life, I couldn't talk. Her words confused me."What do you mean?" I asked her. Jane looked at me really strangely. "What do you mean, what do I mean? Your father's wonderful. I remember when we were kids, and I'd sleep over at your house. He'd always come into your room, sit down in the chair between the twin beds, and read us a book. I'mnot sure my father can even read," she sighed, and then smiled. "Thanks for sharing him." Then, Jane ran off to dance with her boyfriend.

I stood there in silence.A few minutes later, Paul came to stand beside me."He's sure having a lot of fun.""What? Who? Who is having a lot of fun?" I asked."Your father. He's having a ball.""Yeah. I guess." I didn't know what else to say."You know, he's always been there," Paul said. "I remember when you and I were on the mixed-doubles soccer team. He tried out as the coach, but he couldn't run up and down the field, remember? So they picked Jackie's father instead. That didn't stop him. He showed up for every game and did whatever needed to be done. He was the team's biggest fan. I think he's the reason we won so many games. Without him, it just would have been Jackie's father running up and down the field yelling at us. Your father made it fun. I wish my father had been able to show up to at least one of our games. He was always too busy."Paul's girlfriend came out of the restroom, and he went to her side, leaving me once again speechless.

My boyfriend came back with two glasses of punch and handed me one. "Well, what do you think of my father?" I asked out of the blue. Terry looked surprised. "I like him. I always have." "Then why did you call him names when we were kids?""I don't know. Because he was different, and I was a dumb kid." "When did you stop calling him names?" I asked, trying to search my own memory.Terry didn't even have to think about the answer. "The day he sat down with me outside by the pool and held me while I cried about my mother and father's divorce. No one else would let me talk about it. I was hurting inside, and he could feel it. He cried with me that day. I thought you knew."I looked at Terry and a tear rolled down my cheek as long-forgotten memories started cascading into my consciousness. When I was three, my puppy got killed by another dog, and my father was there to hold me and teach me what happens when the pets we love die. When I was five, my father took me to my first day of school. I was so scared. So was he. We cried and held each other that first day. The next day he became teacher's helper. When I was eight, I just couldn't do math. Father sat down with me night after night, and we worked on math problems until math became easy for me. When I was ten, my father bought me a brand-new bike. When it was stolen, because I didn't lock it up like I was taught to do, my father gave me jobs to do around the house so I could make enough money to purchase another one.

When I was thirteen and my first love broke up with me, my father was there to yell at, to blame, and to cry with. When I was fifteen and I got to be in the honor society, my father was there to see me get the accolade. Now, when I was seventeen, he put up with me no matter how nasty I became or how high my hormones raged. As I looked at my father dancing gaily with my friends, a big toothy grin on his face, I suddenly saw him differently.

The handicaps weren't his, they were mine! I had spent a great deal of my life hating the man who loved me. I had hated the exterior that I saw, and I had ignored the interior that contained his God-given heart. I suddenly felt very ashamed.I asked Terry to take me home, too overcome with feelings to remain.

On graduation day, at my Christian high school, my name was called, and I stood behind the podium as the valedictorian of my class. As I looked out over the people in the audience, my gaze rested on my father in the front row sitting next to my mother. He sat there, in his one and only, specially made suit, holding my mother's hand and smiling.Overcome with emotions, my prepared speech was to become a landmarking my life."Today I stand here as an honor student, able to graduate with a 4.0 average. Yes, I was in the honor society for three years and was elected class president for the last two years. I led our school to championship in the debate club, and yes, I even won a full scholarship to Kenton State University so that I can continue to study physics and someday become a college professor.

"What I'm here to tell you today, fellow graduates, is that I didn't do it alone. God was there, and I had a whole bunch of friends, teachers, and counselors who helped. Up until three weeks ago, I thought they were the only ones I would be thanking this evening. If I had thanked just them, I would have been leaving out the most important person in my life. My father."I looked down at my father and at the look of complete shock that covered his face.I stepped out from behind the podium and motioned for my father to join me onstage. He made his way slowly, awkwardly, and deliberately. He had to drag his left foot up the stairs as he used his deformed right arm to balance his gait. As he stood next to me at the podium, I took his small, crippled hand in mine and held it tight."Sometimes we only see the silhouette of the people around us," I said. "For years I was as shallow as the silhouettes I saw. For almost my entire life, I saw my father as someone to make fun of, someone to blame, and someone to be ashamed of. He wasn't perfect, like the fathers my friends had."Well, fellow graduates, what I found out three weeks ago is that while I was envying my friends' fathers, my friends were envying mine. That realization hit me hard and made me look at who I was and what I had become. I was brought up to pray to God and hold high principles for others and myself. What I've done most of my life is read between the lines of the Good Book so I could justify my hatred."Then, I turned to look my father in the face."Father, I owe you a big apology. I based my love for you on what I saw and not what I felt. I forgot to look at the one part of you that meant the most, the big, big heart God gave you. As I move out of high school and into life, I want you to know I could not have had a better father. You were always here for me, and no matter how badly I hurt you, you still showed up. Thank you!"I took off my mortar board and placed it on his head, moving the tassel just so. "You are the reason I am standing here today. You deserve this honor, not me."And as the audience applauded and cried with us, I felt God's light shining down upon me as I embraced my father more warmly than I ever had before, tears unashamedly falling down both our faces. For the first time, I saw my father through God's eyes, and I felt honored to be seen with him.

What is the purpose of Life

Great Philosophy of Life

This is good philosophy of Life and I would like to share with all of you.

A long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.

Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.

Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, 'Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself.'

The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health , time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.

One day when we look back, we will realize that we don't really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.

Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition . Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life.

Life is a balance of Work and Play , Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence.

So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile , Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!

Watch your thoughts ; they become words.
Watch your words ; they become actions.
Watch your actions ; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character .
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Set the right priority in Life and I pray Lord will reveal it to you.

Wake up.

Tears of a woman

Tears of A Woman

A little boy asks his mother: “why do you cry?”
“Because I am a woman.” She answers.
“I don’t understand” he says.
His mother hugs him and says: “and you never will.”
Later the little boy asked his father: “Why does mommy cry?”
“All women cry for no reason,” is all that his father could answer him.

When he became an adult he asked God: “God, why woman cry so easily?”
When I created woman, she needed to be special.
I created her shoulders strong enough to bear the weight of the world…

And soft enough to be comfortable.
I gave her the strength to give life,
The kind that accepts the rejection that often comes from children.
I gave her the strength to allow her to go on when everybody else give up.

The kind that takes care of her family, despite illness and fatigue.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children unconditionally, even when they have hurt her deeply.
I gave her the strength to endure her husband in his faults.
And finally, I gave her tears to shed whenever she needs them to be shed.
You see my son, the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, nor is it in her face or in the way she does her hair.

The beauty of a woman resides in her eyes.
It is the door to her heart, the door where love resides.
And it is often through her tears that you see her heart go by.

Lift the spirit of other women!
Let the world know that all beings are beautiful!
To those who have made you smiled.
When you needed it the most…
To those who have made you see the good side of things when you only saw the worse…
To those to whom you want to say “How much you value their relationship…or simply…..
…thank you for giving me a glimpse of ….
….a better world……..

4 Lovers

Once upon a time there was a rich man who had four lovers.

He loved the 4th lover the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd lover very much and was always showing her off to his friends. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd lover. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the man faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The man's 1st lover was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and land. However, he did not love the first lover. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her!

One day, the man fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, I now have four lovers with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone."

Thus, he asked the 4th lover "I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way!" replied the 4th lover, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad man then asked the 3rd lover, "I loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No!" replied the 3rd lover. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!" His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd lover, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd lover. "At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave." Her answer struck him like a bolt of lightning, and the man was devastated.

Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The man looked up, and there was his first lover. She was very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the man said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, we all have the 4 lovers in our lives:
Our 4th lover is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd lover is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd lover is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st lover is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of us that will follow us to the throne of God and continue with us throughout Eternity.

Thought for the day: Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray. Share this with someone you care about - I just did.

Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections!

8. The most important things in your house are the people.
9. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle teh knot.
10. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

How to Determine What Matters Most

How to Determine What Matters Most
by Rick Warren

There are three things that will endure – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NLT)
*** *** *** ***

The most important lesson God wants you to learn on earth is how to love. Here are three simple truths about love:

1. Life without love is really worthless. We often act as if relationships are something to be squeezed into our schedule. We talk about finding time for our children or making time for people in our lives. That gives the impression that relationships are just a part of our lives along with many other tasks. But God says relationships are what life is all about.

Jesus summarized what matters most to God in two statements: love God and love people. He said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart. . . . This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37-40 NLT).

The point of life is learning to love God and people. Life minus love equals zero.

2. Love will last forever. Another reason God tells us to make love our top priority is that it is eternal: “These three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13 NCV).

Love leaves a legacy. Mother Teresa said, “It’s not what you do, but how much love you put into it that matters.” Love is the secret of a lasting heritage. In our final moments, we all realize that relationships are what life is all about. Wisdom is learning that truth sooner rather than later.

3. We will be evaluated on our love. One way God measures spiritual maturity is by the quality of your relationships. In heaven God won’t say, “Tell me about your career, your bank account, and your hobbies.” Instead he will review how you treated other people, particularly those in need.

Jesus said the way to love him is to love his family and care for their practical needs: “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me” (Matthew 25:40 NRSV).

People need to understand that when you transfer into eternity, you will leave everything else behind. All you’re taking with you is your character. That’s why the Bible says, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love” (Galatians 5:6 NIV).

Knowing this, I encourage you to pray this simple prayer every morning: “God, whether I get anything else done today, I want to make sure that I spend time loving you and loving other people – because that’s what life is all about. I don’t want to waste this day.”

Piece of Cake...

Sometimes we ask ourselves: What did I do to deserve this?
Why does God let thse things happen to me?

Here is the explanation.................

A daughter tells her mother how everything is going wrong for her; She probably failed her Math exam,
...........Her boyfriend just dumped her...........for her best friend.

In time so sad, a good mother knows just the thing to cheer up her daugther ..."I make a delicious cake." In that moment the mother hugged her daugther and walked her to the kitchen, while her daughter attempted to smile.

While the mother prepared the utensils and ingredients, her daughter sat across from her at the counter. Her mother asks, "Sweetheart, would you like a piece of cake?"

Her daughter replies, "Sure, mom, you know how I love cake."

"Alright..." the mother said, "Drink some of this cooking oil."

Shocked, the daughter responded, "What ? ! ? No way!!!

"How about a couple of raw eggs?" To this the daughter responded," Are you kidding?"

"How about a little flour?" "No, mom, I'll be sick!"

The mother responded, "All of these things are uncooked and taste bad, but if you put them together.... They make a delicious cake!"

God works the same way. When we ask ourselves why does he make us go through these difficult times, we don't realize the what/where these events may bring us. Only He knows and he will not let us fall. We don't need to settle for the raw ingredients trust in Him...........And see something fantastic come about!

God loves us so much.......He send us flowers every spring..........
...He makes the sun rise every morning..........
....And anytime you need to talk..........He is there to listen!
He can live anywhere in the universe...........But He choses to live in your heart!

So, share this message to those you truly appreciate....I did, and I hope your day is a "Piece of Cake!"

Have a Great Cake! Oops! I mean a Great Day!

I am a Christian

I am a Christian
"Christian"By Maya Angelou

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need CHRIST to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need HIS strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but,
God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches.
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow.

Leadership 2

In our previous article we have dealt with some basic concept of leadership.

You will agree that it is always begin with individual. To have broad leadership, you need to build from deep character. Infrastructure of great character is need to craft and support great conduct. It is well supported by the old saying that action speaks louder. Never fool yourself by assuming that your followers are blinds or fools. I can assured that if you do that, it won't last long and the truth will surface at the end of the day.

Therefore it is true to say that the trust and involvement of your followers will be parallel to the level of your own character.Your character will reflect your thoughts, beliefs and integrity of your true self. No matter what you say or you don't say, people will be able to know the true picture of yourself.

As such, it is true as advocated by Booker T. Washington "Character is power."Whether you like it or not:- power come with responsibility and power is not cheap.Exercise your power with due care.

To show you are responsible for your people, you must be clear where to draw a line between what you can do and what you cannot do.

Happy reading and enriching yourself. Wish you a great success and see you online again.

Leadership 1

Name James Oh

Leadership

Leadership is influencing.

It's simple and straightforward, one word description that places leadership within everyone's reach. This is true and not necessary mean that it is only applicable to leader - a common misconception amongst vast majority. In fact, everyone can exercise a certain degree of influence on someone, at some point, in some place. For example a parent is a leader for his children. It is obviously clear that leadership isn't about titles and positions.

In a nutshell, so long as you can exercise a certain influence directly, indirectly, expressly or impliedly through your words, actions, conducts, behaviors or thoughts. All these influences can be either good or bad. Every one of us must be extra cautious and ensure that he does not fall into the trap of bad influences or the victim of bad leader.

To function as a light and not be ashamed of Christ, you need to let your brightness shine on the darkness. Let the people be attracted to you and lead the people to the right path and the truth.

Be generous and lead people to the right path - that is to show your care and love.

Happy reading and enriching.

God bless,

Five Finger Prayer

Five finger prayer.
This is so neat. I had never heard this before. This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

1. Your thumb is nearest you.
So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger.
Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger.
It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger.
Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger
- the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
If you decide to share this to a friend, you might brighten someone's day!
Tell this on to someone special... I did.
Don't tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is!!!!!
God bless,

(Revelation 21:27).

The exact date of departure has not been announced. Travellers are advised to be prepared to leave at short notice.'It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority.' (Acts 1:7).

4. TICKETS
Your ticket is a written pledge that guarantees your journey. It should be claimed and its promises kept firmly in hand.'I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.' (John 5:24).

5. CUSTOMS
Only one declaration is required while going through customs. 'That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' (Romans 10:9).

6. IMMIGRATION
All passengers are classified as immigrants, since they are taking up permanent residence in a new country. The quota is unlimited.'...... they were longing for a better country - a heavenly one ....... He has prepared a city for them.' (Hebrews 11:16).

No luggage whatsoever is necessary.'For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.' (1 Timothy 6:7).

8. AIR PASSAGE
Travellers' going directly by air are advised to watch daily for indications of imminent departure.'After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.' (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

9. VACCINATION AND INOCULATION
Injections are not needed, as diseases are unknown at the destination.'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain....' (Revelation 21:4).

10 CURRENCY
Supplies of currency may be forwarded ahead to await the passenger's arrival. Deposit your heart, mind, soul and life.'But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.' (Matthew 6:20).

11 CLOTHING
A complete and appropriate new wardrobe is provided for each traveller.'...For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness....' (Isaiah 61:10).

12 TIME CHANGES
Resetting of watches will not be necessary to adjust to the day/night schedule.'The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp........ for there will be no night there.' (Revelations 21:23,25).

13 RESERVATIONS
Booking is now open. Apply at once.'...... now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.' (2 Corinthians 6:2)

14 CORONATION CEREMONY
The highlight of the journey is the welcoming reception and coronation which await the arrival.'Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.' (2 Timothy 4:8).

The Blessings of the Lord be upon You
Lamentations 3:21-23,25 'But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness...the LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.'
